Cindy French is in her sixth year at the Horizon League and was promoted to Senior Executive Associate in 2008 following two years as Senior Executive Assistant / Director of Administration.
She manages the daily operations of the Horizon League office, administers the process of creating the annual budget, and manages the distribution of financial information. She provides assistance to the Commissioner in the areas of meeting planning, travel and managing the relationships and communication with local community partners. Her duties include administrative support, communication and coordinating meetings to the Horizon League Board of Directors, Executive Council and Subcommittees. She also provides assistance to the Commissioner with his responsibilities as a member of the NCAA Division I Leadership Cabinet.
French previously worked for USA Gymnastics, where she served as the Rhythmic Program Manager (1997-2004), Marketing Assistant (1995-97) and Event Operations Manager (1989-95). She was the event coordinator for international and national competitions, coordinated and managed all team camps, workshops, and educational courses, and was a liaison with three program committees and the Board of Directors. As a Marketing Assistant, she assisted the Vice President of Marketing in a variety of capacities, including the management of corporate sponsor receptions at the 1996 Olympic Games. Included in French's event management experience is work at the 1996 Olympic Games, the 2000, 1996, and 1992 Olympic Trials, the 1991 and 2002 World Championships, and numerous national and international competitions.
A native of Indianapolis, Cindy and her husband, Phil, have two children, Leah, and Garrett, and reside in Indianapolis.
